The Verwaltungs- und Privat Bank or VPB is one of the oldest private banks in Liechtenstein, providing private and business banking services.
The
VPB like the other old Liechtenstein banks are keen supporters of sporting
and cultural events. The head office of the VPB is located in Vaduz.
The history of the VPB is as follows:
1956 - Establishment
1974 - Shares issued to the public and employees. The VPB was the first public company in Liechtenstein
1983 - Company listed on the Zurich stock exchange
1988 - Subsidiaries opened in Zurich and Luxembourg
1995 - VPB Bank subsidiaries opened in the British Virgin Islands as a joint venture with ATU
2001 - Takeover of Banque Baumann & Cie of Luxembourg
The VPB state that their business model is based on the two pillars of 'offshore' and 'onshore' banking which they are developing along with their locally orientated core business.
