Mauren is a village with a strong identity within the Unterland of Liechtenstein - akin to a second child - Mauren is the most important village after its neighbour Eschen, and that can show in the competition between the two. Having said this, they share sporting facilities and teams, which is probably just as well.
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Mauren is the Birkahof between Mauren and Schaanwald.
