When
arriving in Liechtenstein from Austria, chances are that you will cross the
border at Schaanwald, and the first view of Liechtenstein is one of a highly
industrialised area. Right on the border you will see Kaiser, the specialist
vehicle manufacturer, and as you continue towards the Oberland
and Schaan, factories seem more prevalent that houses. This is a bit unfair
on the villages of Schaanwald and Nendeln, but the houses are further back
from the main road, so it is a valid view.
